Tool Tips
Clean affected area on skin with soap and water. Dip tweezer tips in alcohol to sterilize, grip the splinter or embedded item with needle points of the tweezer and back it out gently. After removal, disinfect area with hydrogen peroxide. If embedded dirt is involved, consult a doctor regarding tetanus. To remove ingrown hairs, use one tip of the tweezers to "spring out" the hair, then grasping the hair between both tips, gently pull it out from the base. Using fingers or less hygienic tools can irritate skin or cause infection.
