WIND RUNNER does have a mystical aura about it. Is it an old Indian myth, or legend, or a fireside story...???
We have only been able to get bits and pieces of the story...
The "WIND RUNNER," as the young brave was called, was born high in the Rocky Mountains on a cold and windy winter day. His father, known in his tribe as a great hunter, spent time training and teaching his son the skills of a great hunter. For whatever reason, his son was just not the best with bow and arrows. His father was feeling frustrated and on one day, in anger, said to his son, "You are the best runner in the tribe, so run with the wind, catch a deer, and kill him with your knife. Show me you are a real brave."
The next day the cold winds blew. All the hunters huddles within their teepees for warmth. The young brave got ready, knife in hand and moccassins on tightly...With a powerful cry he started to run, and run...The wind carried him faster over the hills...Not long thereafter, the wind died down. It was now cold and quiet. Wlaking slowly into camp was the young brave, with a smile on his face and a small deer being dragged behind him...He was the "WIND RUNNER."
...and so the story goes. Is it real or is it fiction?
