Introduced in 1959, the illustration portrays a "charging enemy combatant" aggressively moving forward with a rifle and fixed bayonet. Though stylized generically, its stark minimalist design features a helmet silhouette resembling a World War II-era German Stalhelm. Within Commonwealth military subcultures, this iconic graphic design is affectionately nicknamed "Herman the German"
Large 18" x 22"- The large white letter "A" at the top marks the primary scoring zone for group targeting. The target features concentric outer scoring rings printed in the faint white lines around the center mass to calculate precision during liv-fire qualifications.
Small 12" x 14 1/2" - 12C/59 The "12C" variation typically has specific scoring rings. For instance, in certain matches shot at 100 yards, the 5-point scoring ring is the outer ring, which is 40mm smaller than the ring on the standard Figure 12 target.
