A Cold Wind Blows

Posted by Captain Fashionista on 23rd Jan 2019

If you were around the GTA this week then you would have experienced one heck of a snowfall. And there's no question that many others in Canada and around the world are experiencing the wrath of winter first hand. There's a unique feeling of shared misery in winter that brings people together. The warmth that makes people crowd together outside against the cold. Or the look of commiseration you share with your neighbor across the snowbanks as you're both shoveling your driveways.

Now, I'm a firm believer that the Winter Season is full of opportunities for fun. However, Just like in Boy Scouts, You have to be prepared, with the right equipment to not just survive, but thrive in the winter. and what better place to find what you need than Hero Outdoors?

As Everyone should know, The key to warm winter clothing is "layering". But almost everyone neglects the crucial under layer, and pays for it with shivering legs. But a good set of Longjohns (AKA Thermal Underwear) will change the way you view Winter. A pair of [Rothco Midweight Thermal Knit Bottom] longjohns, worn under my pants kept me nice and warm while shoveling this morning, but not by themselves, this unsung hero had a pair of sidekicks that ensured no cold feet ruined my morning. [Canadian Armed Forces Arctic Bunny Boots] make you look like a Stormtrooper, but make you feel like you're walking in toasty slippers

But that's only part of an ideal winter outfit. A good sweater underneath my [N-3B Parka] makes sure I stay comfy, no matter the weather.

But shoveling snow would still have been miserable without the right gloves. And once again, Hero's to the rescue, with a pair of [U.S. Armed Forces Arctic Mitts]. Battle - tested in some unknown base north of the Arctic circle, they are more than a match for a Winter morning in Toronto, and changed shoveling from a cold and miserable ordeal, into a brisk, and invigorating morning workout.

Change your winter into something better today, with the right gear!
