Designed by Pietro Beretta S.p.A in 2008, the Beretta ARX-160 was developed to be a modern assault rifle platform for the Italian Armed Forces and replace the, then current, Beretta 70/90 weapon system. The ARX-160 was developed as part of the Italian military’s Soldato Futuro, or Future Solider, program. With operator in mind, the ARX-160 boasts numerous improvements and features that were not seen on previous issued assault rifles. From its lightweight polymer composite built to its ambidextrous control layout and integrated rail system gave soldiers numerous options to suit their operational comforts.
Officially licensed by Beretta, the ARX-160 by Elite Force is high quality replica of this futuristic and ergonomic assault rifle. The body of the rifle is made with nylon reinforced polymer making this airsoft gun extremely lightweight and durable. It features ambidextrous fire selector, magazine release, and a charging handle that can be moved to either side of the receiver, making this rifle perfect for left or right handed operators. In addition to the ambidextrous controls, the ARX-160 features a very unique stock. The stock can be extended fit different lengths of pull and can be folded and locked to the right side of the gun – making it useful for CQB games or storage purposes. The ARX-160 features a monolithic top rail to fit a variety of scopes, optics and sights. There are side and bottom rail sections to mount additional tactical accessories. Beneath the hand guard, behind the bottom rail section, there is an area to mount the ARX-160 proprietary GLX-160 under slung 40mm grenade launcher.
Internally, the Beretta ARX-160 features a full metal 7mm version 2 gearbox that is robustly built and TM compatible, meaning that it can be upgraded if the operator chooses. The gearbox features heat treated steel gears, polycarb piston with full metal teeth and polycarb piston head for increased durability and reliability. The ARX-160 has a micro switch trigger that gives operators a more responsive and faster trigger when firing. The ARX-160 has a unique quick release barrel and spring change system. This allows airsoft players to easily maintain or swap out the outer barrel, inner barrel and hop up unit with ease and allows them to quickly adjust the FPS of the rifle to meet field limits.
