Pistol patterns in the 18th century were only limited by the imagination of the professional .  One was the double barreled shotgun type pistol used by civilians, sailors, pirates, privateers, traders, or purchased by military officers as a personal defence piece.  This and similar designs were used from the early 18th century to about the 1830s.  This item was for close quarter action.

The barrels are 6 3/4 inches long and .58 calibre and the pistol's overall length is 13 3/8 inches. The bore of the barrels is cylinder and made of polished gun steel (type:BS970 no.080M40- auto industry foundry) and the breeches are tight.

The lock is made with strong durable springs and has a case-hardened frizzens that throws good sparks. We use a industrial case-hardening factory process that makes sparking both more reliable and longer lasting. Presently no other musket provider uses this technique.
