WW1 Austro-Hungary Medal for Bravery 2nd Class, Franz Joseph I.

This medal was issued between 1914 and 1916 during the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I. Following his death in 1916, the design of the medal was changed. This particular piece features the inscription "Der Tapferkeit" ("For Bravery") on the reverse, and bears the "A" hallmark on the rim, indicating that it was struck at the Vienna Mint. Near the lower edge of the medal, the designer's signature, "Leisek," is visible.

After 1916, the medal was redesigned to feature Emperor Karl I, with the reverse inscription changed to "Fortitvdini" (Latin for "To Bravery").

The condition of the medal is good used, with bits of fade on the ribbon itself
