The Introvert is an unorthodox folding knife that integrates a flipper opener, a sturdy back lock mechanism, and generous index-finger hole to create an extraordinary, one-of-a-kind cutting tool. Designed by a martial artist and knifemaker named Chris Knutson, the original goal of the Introvert was to create a folding version of Spyderco’s popular Swick™ fixed-blade neck knife. As the design evolved, it ultimately yielded the world’s first flipper-opening back lock folding knife. Machined from VG-10 stainless steel, the Introvert’s full-flat-ground blade includes an integral index-finger hole. Pioneered by French custom knifemaker Fred Perrin, this feature anchors the knife into the user’s hand for exceptional grip security. The leading edge of the hole also functions as a flipper, allowing the blade to be swiftly opened with a stroke of the index finger. The “dropped” angle of the Introvert’s handle complements the hand’s natural ergonomics and maximizes the knife’s cutting leverage. The handle’s construction includes full stainless steel liners capped with textured G-10 scales and a unique variant of the back lock mechanism that includes a machined slot to allow the blade’s flipper to pass through it. A reversible deep-pocket wire clip offers both left and right-side carry and, together with the knife’s other features, makes operation of the Introvert completely ambidextrous.
