The hard rubber bumper greatly reduces the shock impact on the gearbox while operating your gearbox. The mushroom type piston head was popular for it's much quieter operation in the past and grew more popular as technicians find them increasing the durability of gearbox mech box shells. If you are looking for "louder" then the stainless piston heads may be what you want, otherwise, these piston heads are great for the money and will perform as expected!
