Al Mar Knives has carried on a long and rewarding romance with one of the most classic of blade forms, the double edged fighter.
This is the larger of the two knives in this series, Shadow #6104. Blade length: 7 3/4". Blade thickness: 1/4". Blade steel: AM-6. OAL: 13 1/4".
Guard: integral with handle.
Handle: glass-filled Dupont Zytel.
This knife was produced in Seki City, Japan likely in the mid 1980's when Al was still alive.
This timeless design has a hefty dose of Al Mar uniqueness. Al, a former Green Beret and paratrooper, designed this dagger with first hand knowledge of what "The Warrior's Edge" means. "Elegant Utility", Al called it. The handle allows for a comfortable firm grip with smooth maneuverability, along with the satisfying feeling of protection from the integral guard. The blade appears to be scary sharp. The precise groove and grind on this blade is fine art.
