The Victorinox INOX Mechanical is probably the most anticipated model to be introduced by Victorinox in Baselworld 2018 and it is now here! When Victorinox Swiss Army introduced the robust I.N.O.X watch collection in 2014, it was launched in quartz as they have to pass through 130 challenging tests, and boy, do they survive all of them.

For three consecutive years, these watches have come out in many variations, like the carbon and titanium selections. However, only until now, Victorinox brought some mechanical movements into this line.

The INOX Mechanical Blue is the first to have an ETA 2824-2 automatic movement in the collection. The watch keeps the now iconic I.N.O.X case style, measuring at 43mm wide and 13.5mm thick like on the quartz models, with a 200m water resistant achievable through the screw-down crown. While it stays true to the Inox collection, the case is not without some minor improvements. The bezel now has a clear DLC coating to make it more scratch resistant and the new case back also has a display back to show its movement working.

The Victorinox INOX Mechanical is powered by ETA's automatic caliber, ETA2824-2, operating at 28,800 BPH (4 Hertzs) with hacking and hand winding capabilities. It has 25 jewels with a power reserve of 40 hours.

It bears not just a double, but a triple AR-coated sapphire crystal over the dial, increasing the readability. Another unique feature goes to the dial, and kudos for Victorinox to spice things up a little, by having a tapisserie dial (hobnail texture) meant to mimic the handle of a Swiss officer’s knife. Giving the watch a more up-market feel by creating a certain depth to the dial, along with the applied markers and Victorinox shield logo at 12. We admire the attention to details Victorinox has give to the new Inox mechanical. Good amount of SuperLuminova C1 is applied to the index for superb glow in the dark action.

The Victorinox INOX Mechanical comes with a solid link stainless steel bracelet with fliplock deployant clasp. And for those ready to swim with it, it even comes with a wet suit extension.
