It's hard to find the perfect knife. Several months ago We set out to design a pocket knife that would be solid, elegant and also affordable. Every single aspect of the design and the specific materials chosen were carefully picked based on these three criteria. 

Canvas Micarta Handles: Micarta is often regarded as one of the best materials for knife handles due to its durability. The handles in the Ausus knife were ergonomically designed to provide a comfortable grip during use while the texture of the canvas micarta offers a nice grippy, non-slip feel while maintaining its elegant aesthetic.

D2 Steel Blade: There are many opinions as to the best steel to use for an EDC knife but D2 is always among the top of the list. D2 is a tool steel and has excellent resistance to corrosion. With an HRC of 59-61 it is among the hardest steels on the market and as a result has excellent edge retention which is one of the most important factors for a premium EDC knife. The 3.5" drop-point, straight-edge blade on the Ausus have a bit of jimping on the lower spine for added thumb control and come with either a stonewashed finish for the brown handled knife or a black oxide finish for the black handled knife. 

Dual Over-sized Thumb Studs & Ball Bearing Deployment: The Ausus features oversized dual thumb studs with internal stainless steel ball bearings which make the blade easily deployable with either hand even while wearing gloves. 

Liner Lock: The liner lock mechanism engages when the blade is completely opened and protects one from accidentally closing the blade while in use. The liner-lock also allows for one-handed unlocking to close the blade again.
